APPLICATION DEADLINE EXTENDED FOR MOST PROGRAMs TO MAY 31, 8PM

 

All programs will include the following restorative practices:

•Focus on Relationships: Safe space to build mutual relationships with fellow students and adults. Enrichment activities will provide opportunities of collaboration, thus building trusting relationships among peers.  Staff will focus on community agreements in order to address discipline issues.

•Addressing Mental Health:  Social workers will do circles and check ins addressing well-being, safety, trauma, anxiety, loss of stability, how to manifest feelings, and will work on building trusting relationships.

•Connecting with Families and Communities: Parent education nights and regular check ins with parents/guardians.

•High-dosage of Tutoring: Teachers will work with small groups of students to accelerate classroom learning.

 

June 28 – July 30: Program runs five days a week (a total of 24 days)

Program Time: 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Student Eligibility:

Summer Matters@SCUSD programs are open for all students, however below are the priority groups:

Foster Youth – All elementary and middle school foster Youth Families will receive the invite to enroll in Summerquest and Summer of Service programs. Foster Youth Services will be responsible for reaching out to families. 

Students Experiencing Homelessness: Homeless Services will send the application link to all of their families.

Students with Special Needs: YDSS will work with Special Ed Services to invite students who are enrolled in  Extended School Year (ESY) program.

In addition, if we have more applications than the available slots, at that time we will intentionally select the students who are in the following categories: EL students, disengaged students based on the attendance, and students with special needs.
