We recently got rebuilt and got a futuristic look which motivates us to do more STEM activities to show thay We are future ready. We also have stone figures that show a different time period from the modernized look.

Student Creations

Explore student projects themed around World Markets, celebrating global diversity and the vibrant impact of our programs at Sacramento City Unified School District. From hand-crafted textiles, to artwork celebrating their culture, our students bring learning to life.

Today, we were graced in learning about Mexican Folklorico, a traditional dance.

Why this destination is a traveler’s choice:

Mexico is a vast place with many styles of song and dance yet the most enchanting one is the traditional Folklorico. Vibrant not only in color but rhythm!

"I want to learn how to make one!" Mateo R. exclaimed as a famous sugar skull artist tells of his modernized 'traditional' work.

Why this destination is a traveler’s choice:

After learning about Indigenous Mexican and Japanese history/culture, we created masks symbolizing the both countries to sum up our vacation trips. Welcoming us home with a chill activity was our lovely summer ambassadors ready with a book chalk full of lessons- Mañana Iguana.

Ms. Mercy's class continued learning greetings and even the whole Japanese Hiragana alphabet.

Japan is so kawaii, we have to learn about it. Plus, who wouldn't want to watch Anime without subtitles?

We went back out into Japan to create our own Bento boxes and take part in their infamous Toro Nagashi (floating lantern)festival. What a way to wind down our trip to Japan!

It was a good experience knowing that we could to am activity with the students name and so they know that their name has a meaning and power

I enjoyed how much the students really interacted with the book based on names and syllable’s. It showed me that the stories are entertaining and interesting to the students. And that books still are important to the youth!

Something to expect is a work full of color and dedication coming to life through the kids designs about Hispanic instruments(in this case guitars)

This is a travelers choice as this gives a spin to Hispanic guitars and shows the creation of kids hard work (their favorite saying “MEXICO MEXICO MEXICO”.
