What to Expect
During the traveler's visit, they will expect the summer program to be in process. These programs pertain to Zen time, social emotional learning (SEL), arts and crafts, book explorers, triple play, and science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). There are 4 groups with similar schedules. Zen time, younger members could take a nap and/or do a quiet activity (e.g., listen to calm music, heads down, coloring) after the academic portion. Arts and crafts activities are changed according to the weeks' time traveling theme and members can showcase their art to others. Book explorers reviews a themed story (e.g., prehistoric era, ancient Egypt, etc.) and create an art piece regarding the story. Members have the time to play a structured game with staff and other members and practice their teamwork/sportsmanship. During STEM, members have the opportunity to be exposed to historic events and learn about the history of the logical advancements during that time. On some Fridays, we have a rally for our members and celebrate the summer spirits with engaging activities.
